Note on Husband: Montague BERTIE 2nd Earl of Lindsay
Bertie was the eldest son of Robert Bertie, 1st Earl of Lindsey by his second wife Bridget Bertie, 4th Baroness Norreys, suo jure Lady Norreys. He succeeded his mother as 5th Baron Norreys on the latter's death, c. 1657. On the 30 November 1682 he was created 1st Earl of Abingdon by letters patent. On his death in 1699 he was succeeded in his titles by his eldest son. His first wife died on 31 May 1691. He married secondly, Catherine Chamberlayne, daughter of Reverend Sir Thomas Chamberlayne, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Prideaux, on 15 April 1698.
